Shiori Hirano and Knox Lofgren are left to run the martial arts program at Black Arts while Ronin Black travels. On the surface, the two highest ranked belts appear to cooperate—but in private, they butt heads constantly, despite the undeniable attraction between them. Soon their power exchanges start to make for a sweltering dynamic in the bedroom…
At first Knox is shocked to be living out his submissive desires, but Shiori sets out to prove that embracing his true sexual nature doesn’t make him a weak man. But even while their sexual relationship grants him a power and fulfillment he finds surprising, there’s no training regimen for the fight that comes with loving a strong woman.

Book Review:
Lorelei James gives Unraveled’s ‘enemies to lovers’ trope a twist by putting the woman in the dominant sexual and financial role. While breaking the prevalent trend of a naïve virginal submissive woman with a muscular, able-bodied man, James continues the positive perspective of submission being a consensual and freeing, not demeaning or humiliating role.
While Shiori teaches Knox the pleasures of being dominated in the bedroom, Knox satisfies her emotionally and physically outside of the bedroom, creating a balance that meets both their needs.
Shiori and Knox’s mutual respect and active communication help them create a dynamic that supersedes their financial imbalance and cultural and racial differences. Both characters have compelling and relatable backstories and a bag full of sexual hijinks that will ensure you are entertained by the saucy sex scenes in the bedroom and the developing romance outside of it. –Buy it!
